Warsaw urged European leaders to back the U.S. president on Ukraine and security, citing Russian drone incursions—and warning that NATO’s eastern flank is under growing pressure.

Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki has declared that Donald Trump is the only world leader capable of preventing Vladimir Putin from threatening Europe. He also called on European countries to support the U.S. president’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

Speaking to BBC News, Nawrocki pointed to a mass incursion of Russian UAVs into Polish airspace last year as evidence that Moscow is testing NATO’s defences and solidarity.

While acknowledging Brussels-based unease over Trump’s comments on Greenland, Nawrocki insisted the United States remains Europe’s main security guarantor. He criticised European Union leaders for prioritising climate and migration policies over defence, contrasting this with Poland’s plan to spend nearly 5% of GDP on its military.
