A so-called “resistance festival” in Brussels last weekend sparked outrage after blatantly antisemitic street performances were staged by the group Samidoun, which claims to support Palestinian prisoners. As part of a Gaza youth theater program, actors dressed as terrorists simulated attacks on Israelis while shouting antisemitic slogans, including “From the River to the Sea”—a call for Israel’s destruction.

The three-day festival (June 6–8), organized by Samidoun Brussels and various left-wing, anti-imperialist groups, was promoted as a cultural event opposing imperialism and Zionism.

“I know such theatrical scenes from Gaza and the West Bank. And I know: There, it never remained a mere performance,” extremism expert Ahmad Mansour commented on X. “Those who tolerate such things in Europe will experience terror not only in the Middle East—but in the heart of Europe.”
