Ukraine launched a large barrage of drones for a second night in a row at Russia, which said Tuesday it had shot down 184 of the projectiles. According to a statement from Russia’s defence ministry, most of the UAVs were intercepted over the border regions of Kursk and Belgorod.

On Monday, October 6th, Russia said it had intercepted 251 drones—one of Kyiv’s largest attacks to date. The strikes resulted in two fatalities and caused power outages, with around 1,000 people still without electricity in Belgorod, according to local authorities.

Kyiv has vowed to continue and intensify UAV strikes on Russian territory, with a focus on energy infrastructure. The latest attack followed President Volodymyr Zelensky announcing that ‘Ukraine is ready to begin exporting weapons,’ presenting his country as a nascent regional military drones industry powerhouse.
