Russia says it is continuing work on a proposed peace deal for the war in Ukraine, but no official draft has yet been submitted. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the draft document requires thorough review and preparation.

Russian president Vladimir Putin told U.S. president Donald Trump last week that Russia and Ukraine would begin working on a memorandum related to a potential peace agreement. The announcement sparked criticism from Kyiv and European leaders, who have accused Moscow of lacking genuine commitment to peace efforts.

Russia denies any intention to delay the peace process and said the country is working diligently to develop a comprehensive proposal for long-term peace between the two nations.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow is prepared to present the draft peace document to Ukraine once a recent prisoner exchange is completed. According to the Russian defense ministry, an exchange of 1,000 individuals by each side was finalized on Sunday.
