Russia and Ukraine have carried out a new prisoner-of-war exchange today, swapping 175 soldiers each in a rare moment of coordination amid the ongoing conflict.

According to the Russian defence ministry, 175 Russian service members were returned from Ukrainian-controlled territory on Saturday, while an equal number of Ukrainian prisoners of war were handed over to Kyiv. The exchange was announced via official Russian channel MAX, highlighting one of the limited areas where the two sides continue to engage directly.

Prisoner swaps have remained one of the few functioning mechanisms of cooperation between Russia and Ukraine, even as fighting continues across multiple fronts.

Despite these limited interactions, broader diplomatic progress remains stalled, with both sides maintaining hardline positions on key issues.
