Both sides have agreed to observe the truce that comes after a major prisoner exchange earlier today.

The provisional truce ordered by Vladimir Putin on Thursday, April 9, between Ukraine and Russia over Orthodox Easter began at 4:00 p.m. local time on Saturday. Kyiv warned it would respond “immediately” if Russia violated it.

The Kremlin agreed to the ceasefire more than a week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky first made the proposal. Both sides have agreed to observe the truce that comes after a major prisoner exchange earlier today.
