A Russian Antonov-26 military transport aircraft crashed while flying over the occupied Crimean Peninsula on Wednesday, killing 29 people, according to the TASS state news agency citing the Russian Defence Ministry.
“Search and rescue teams have located the crash site of the An-26. According to reports from the scene, the six crew members and 23 passengers on board were killed.”
No signs of external impact were found on the aircraft’s wreckage. Initial findings suggest that a technical failure was the likely cause of the crash.
