A student carried out a stabbing spree at a high school in northwestern France on Thursday, April 24th, killing one classmate and wounding three others. At least one of the injured students is in critical condition.
The assailant, armed with a knife, attacked fellow students at the Notre-Dame de Toutes-Aides secondary school in the city of Nantes at around 12:30 pm, before being overpowered by teachers.
French media have reported that the 15-year-old killer sent a left-wing manifesto to classmates before the attack, protesting against climate damage, social alienation, and “totalitarian social conditioning.”
Right-wing leader Marine Le Pen said it was “high time to take the necessary measures” to stop trivialising the violence that is “wreaking havoc at the very heart of our schools.”

As europeanconservative.com has previously reported, French schools are increasingly becoming places of violence, and many teachers have had to endure attacks by Muslim pupils.
The most shocking incidents to date are the murders of two teachers by Islamists—Samuel Paty on October 16th, 2020, and Dominique Bernard on October 13th, 2023.
