Rasmus Paludan, the anti-Islamism activist best known for staging Quran burnings in Sweden, says he’s been stopped from entering Italy.
“The prefect of Varese has decided that since other people will be angry if I’m in Italy, it’s best if I’m not allowed into the country for five years,” Paludan told Samnytt. He said he has hired a lawyer and will challenge the entry ban.

Although Paludan’s trip was primarily for vacation, he said he also planned to attend the ‘Remigration Summit’ in Milan on Saturday—not as a speaker, but simply “to be involved.”
Featured speakers at the event include Portugal’s Afonso Gonçalves, Austria’s Martin Sellner, former French MEP Jean-Yves Le Gallou, Dutch commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek, and Belgian activist Dries Van Langenhove.
Paludan was banned from entering the UK in 2023 after announcing plans to burn the Quran in a manifestation in the city of Wakefield.
