One of the co-owners of a Swiss bar where 40 people were killed in a New Year’s Eve blaze has been taken into custody, according to local media reports.
Swiss outlets said Jacques Moretti was held by authorities to prevent him from leaving the country. The fire at the Le Constellation bar in the ski resort of Crans-Montana also left 116 people injured.
The case has drawn further attention after it emerged that the bar had not undergone mandatory safety inspections in the past five years.
