According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, one person riding a motorcycle was killed and another wounded in the town of Yater, on Sunday, December 14th.
The Israeli military has yet to comment on the incident.
The November 2024 ceasefire was intended to end hostilities that had lasted for more than a year since the Hamas pogrom of October 2023. Despite the agreement, Israel has repeatedly carried out airstrikes in Lebanon, normally targeting Hezbollah fighters and infrastructure.
Under the ceasefire terms, Hezbollah was required to withdraw north of the Litani River and dismantle its military infrastructure in the area. In line with a government-approved plan, the Lebanese army began dismantling weapons and positions south of the Litani by the end of the year.
However, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has repeatedly rejected disarmament, saying in a televised speech that it would serve Israel’s interests, even if “the whole world united against Lebanon.”
