U.S. President Donald Trump sounded upbeat and hopeful in a post on Truth Social after a two-hour phone conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin:
“I believe it went very well. Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War,” he said.
The Vatican has offered its services to host the negotiations, Trump said.
