Trump Invites Orbán To Attend Middle East Peace Summit

The Sharm el-Sheikh summit today brings together over 20 world leaders to discuss the Middle East Peace Plan and regional stability.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will attend the Middle East Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, he announced on X on Monday, October 13th. 

The Hungarian PM emphasized the central role of U.S. president Donald Trump in achieving a peace deal between Israel and Hamas, stating “President Donald Trump has done it again!,” calling the outcome “a tremendous achievement.”

Orbán also highlighted the broader significance of the summit for global peace, adding: “If we do not fall for the pro-war siren calls, he will get it done in Ukraine as well. We must give him all the support he needs for that.” 

The peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh will bring together leaders from over 20 countries, co-chaired by Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Attendees include UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, French President Emmanuel Macron, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan , and Jordan’s King Abdullah II. UN Secretary-General António Guterres and European Council President António Costa will also participate.

A European Council spokesperson said: “The plan offers a real chance for a just and sustainable peace, and the EU is fully committed to supporting these efforts and contributing to their implementation.”
