The U.S. President expresses optimism but cautions situation remains fluid.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that “there could be an agreement in Gaza next week”, although the situation could still change.

Asked how optimistic he was about a ceasefire agreement aboard Air Force One, Trump said “very”, but added that “it changes from day to day”.

In response to a positive response to Hamas’ proposed ceasefire talks, he said, “It’s good. I have not been briefed on that. We have to get over it. We have to do something about Gaza”.
