Erdoğan’s ruling party sends relief experts to the Strip to help locate the remains of 19 missing Israeli hostages.

Ankara has deployed 81 disaster relief specialists to the Gaza Strip, the Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed on Thursday, October 16th.

The team, from the national emergency agency AFAD, will assist with humanitarian efforts and help to search for the remains of 19 hostages who are still missing.

The move, which follows a Turkish commitment to a post-war Gaza ‘task force,’ has been interpreted as President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan vying for greater regional influence.
