Interestingly, the right-wing FPÖ fared relatively well among voters from a migrant background.

A large majority of the Viennese with a Turkish or Yugoslavian background voted for the Social Democrats (SPÖ) at the recent regional elections in Vienna.

The revelation may not be so surprising, given that migrants all across Europe regularly vote for leftist parties who espouse pro-migration policies, and see migrants as potential voters. (For example, left-wing parties would have bagged nearly 70% of the vote if only Muslims had participated in Germany’s federal election in February.)

Among Viennese residents with a Turkish background, 46% voted for the SPÖ—which is a lot higher than the 39% the party got at the elections—and 17% gave their support to a relatively unknown party, the Social Austria of the Future (SÖZ) which campaigns for the rights of Muslims.

Austrians stemming from the countries of the former Yugoslavia also voted overwhelmingly (44%) for the SPÖ, and 6% of them even backed the Communist Party (KPÖ).

Interestingly enough, the right-wing Freedom Party (FPÖ) also fared well, gaining 21% of the votes from Turkish Austrians and 25% from Yugoslav Austrians. Overall, the party tripled its results compared to 2020, and got 20% on Sunday.
