Social media reports say a white man in his 60s has been arrested in connection with the shooting

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, a well-known conservative activist and executive director of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was shot while speaking at a TPUSA chapter event at Utah Valley University. The incident took place in the university courtyard during a stop on Kirk’s ‘The American Comeback Tour.’ Social media footage captured the moment Kirk was struck while seated under a tent, with students fleeing the scene as gunshots rang out.

A TPUSA press team spokesperson confirmed to Fox News that Kirk was shot, though details about his condition had not been disclosed at the time of writing.

Charlie Kirk has died after being shot at an event on Wednesday afternoon at Utah Valley University.

A Utah Valley University police spokesperson also verified that gunfire occurred on campus. A suspect is in custody, Utah Valley University told students in an alert. The shooting is under investigation.
