Two police officers suffered minor injuries during a protest in Epping.

The protest erupted after an appeals court on Friday, August 29th overturned a lower court ruling that had temporarily banned the use of an Epping hotel to house asylum seekers.

In the demonstration, two officers were injured, and three protesters were taken into custody.

Protests in Epping started in July when an Ethiopian asylum seeker, put up in The Bell Hotel, approached two 14-year-old girls in the town centre, saying he “wanted to have a baby with them” and attempted to kiss them.

Protests have since spread to other parts of the UK, driven by growing frustration over the continued arrival of small boats full of migrants crossing the English Channel from France, and the large amounts of taxpayer money spent on migrant housing.

Since Keir Starmer of the Labour Party became Prime Minister in July 2024, 50,000 migrants have arrived via this route.
