The adolescent politics of Keir Starmer invited widespread derision on social media when he suggested tackling knife crime, “toxic masculinity” and radical misogyny by exposing youngsters to a fictional tale of murder and family crisis, which he described as a “documentary.” 

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, wits encouraged the PM to shape policy by screening other TV ‘documentaries,’ ranging from Peaky Blinders to Rentaghost.

Meanwhile, the establishment’s continual harping on about the need to provide working-class British boys with good role models ignores a fairly strong candidate: self-made actor/writer Stephen Graham, who plays the lead role in, er, Adolescence.
