Man removed to France crossed back weeks later; Home Office sent him out again.

A migrant who returned to the UK by small boat after being removed to France under the government’s “one-in, one-out” scheme has been deported again, Home Office sources confirmed.

The man was first removed on September 19th before re-entering the UK on October 18th. He claimed to have been a victim of modern slavery in France.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said the case was expedited after biometric detection and detention. She warned that anyone attempting to return under the UK–France agreement “will be sent back,” and vowed to scale up removals to secure the borders.

Since the scheme began, 94 migrants have been removed from the UK, while 57 asylum seekers have arrived from France under the arrangement.
