Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack against Russia on the night of Wednesday, May 21st, reports citing Russian government sources said on Thursday.
The drones heavily targeted border regions with Ukraine as well as Moscow, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, and Russian public sources.
Russia’s defence ministry initially claimed 219 drones were downed, then corrected the figure to 105 this morning.
The airports in Moscow suspended operations overnight but resumed operations early this morning. Oil refineries in Ryazan in central Russia have also been hit.
