On Tuesday, October 21st, Ukraine struck Russia’s Bryansk Chemical Plant with British-made Storm Shadow missiles. The targeted facility produces explosives and rocket fuel used against Ukrainian forces. Ukraine noted a “successful hit,” although its full effects are still being assessed.

Hours later Russia launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk—killing six people, including two children—and causing power outages and building damage.

The strikes coincide with renewed Western pledges to pressure Russia’s economy and defense industry, at a time when plans for a U.S.-Russia summit in Budapest remain incomplete.
