Ukraine has formally sent its response to the U.S. peace plan with National Security Advisor Rustem Umerov delivering the document to Jared Kushner. Kyiv consulted with some European partners, including the UK, France and Germany, ahead of today’s expected discussions on the proposal.
The Ukrainian president sais last night that Kyiv is working on developing developing “at least two additional ones” to the 20-point U.S. peace plan, the first concerning security guarantees from the United States, while the second regarding “the economy, covering reconstruction and joint investment.”

The submission comes amid intensifying conflict, as Russia shot down 287 Ukrainian drones overnight. 32 of the drones were heading toward Moscow, forcing temporary closures at all four of the city’s airports. In Ukraine, attacks on local energy facilities in Poltava sparked fires, raising concerns about the impact on the country’s ability to withstand a harsh winter.
