Ukraine will receive U.S. intelligence on long-range energy infrastructure targets deep inside Russia, Reuters reported on Wednesday. This would mark a shift in the White House’s approach to Kyiv.

The move follows President Donald Trump’s recent social media comments suggesting Ukraine could reclaim all territories occupied by Russia, and sympathetic suggestions he made to President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly last month.

No decision has yet been made on supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles which could extend Ukraine’s current drone strike campaign, one that has already hit over half of Russia’s oil refineries. Targeting energy infrastructure has contributed to fuel shortages and a drop in daily production in parts of Russia.

The Kremlin said the situation remains unchanged. According to spokesperson Dmitry Peskov,

The U.S. transmits intelligence to Ukraine on a regular basis online.
