Czarzasty has repeatedly attacked Donald Trump over his global policies, drawing a strong U.S. response.

The United States has announced that it will immediately sever contact with Włodzimierz Czarzasty, Speaker of the Polish Sejm. The decision was confirmed Thursday via social media by U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Tom Rose.

“Effective immediately, we will have no further dealings, contacts, or communications with Marshal of the Sejm Czarzasty, whose outrageous and unprovoked insults directed against President Trump has made himself a serious impediment to our excellent relations with Prime Minister Tusk and his government,” Ambassador Rose declared on the X platform. ” We will not permit anyone to harm U.S.–Polish relations, nor disrespect President Donald Trump, who has done so much for Poland and the Polish people,” he added.

Czarzasty responded to the announcement in an interview with Onet, reiterating his position. “Since the ambassador’s statement was issued in connection with my stance on the lack of support for President Trump’s candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize, I maintain my position,” he said.

The Polish Left Party leader has repeatedly criticized President Trump, especially regarding his global policies. When asked to support Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination, Czarzasty publicly refused, claiming the president destabilizes institutions such as the WHO, NATO, the European Union, and the United Nations.

He called Trump’s foreign policy transactional, criticized the United States’ new initiatives like the Peace Council, and questioned actions in territories such as Greenland.

Czarzasty was elected Speaker of the Polish parliament last November, following the resignation of Szymon Hołownia of Poland 2050. The appointment was part of a coalition agreement, giving the Left Party the post for the second half of the parliamentary term.
