European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen will attend the International Summit on the Future of Energy Security on Thursday, April 24th. The event will assemble various “energy ministers and key energy sector decision-makers from around the world,” co-hosted by hapless Energy Secretary Ed Miliband.

Speculation is rife that the real action at the event will involve European Union fan Prime Minister Keir Starmer informally briefing von der Leyen in advance of the UK-EU summit scheduled for May 19th. Their sidebar conversation may also keep the Ukraine-irrelevant ‘coalition of the willing’ on life support for a little longer.
