The U.S. State Department has put up to $10 million on the table for information that helps dismantle the funding networks of four violent far-left groups operating in Europe.
In a statement issued from the U.S. Embassy in Budapest on Friday, Washington said its Rewards for Justice (RFJ) programme is targeting Antifa Ost, the Informal Anarchist Federation/International Revolutionary Front (FAI/FRI), and two Greek groups—Armed Proletarian Justice and Revolutionary Class Self-Defense—recently designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs).
Antifa Ost, a Germany-based militant network also known as Hammerbande, has been blamed for a series of violent attacks against people it identifies as part of the “right-wing scene.” German authorities have also accused its members of assaulting several individuals in Budapest in February 2023 during an annual event that attracts thousands of neo-Nazis and their supporters from across Europe.
FAI/FRI operates primarily in Italy and has claimed responsibility for bombings, letter bombs, and threats targeting courts and other political and economic institutions. The two Greek groups have carried out or claimed responsibility for improvised explosive device attacks against government ministries, police facilities, and transport infrastructure.
All four organisations were designated as FTOs on November 20, 2025. Under U.S. law, their assets under U.S. jurisdiction are frozen, and it is a criminal offence for U.S. persons to provide them with material support.
