The conservative Polish think tank Ordo Iuris has launched a website detailing the unlawful attacks by the Donald Tusk-led leftist-liberal government against the conservative opposition.
The Rule of Law Observer website is a
response to the liberal left’s self-proclaimed militant democracy in Poland and numerous violations of rule-of-law principles by a government openly supported by EU institutions in Brussels.
Since coming to power in December 2023, the Tusk government has arrested opposition MPs and former ministers, withheld state funding to the opposition PiS party, carried out the forceful takeover of the public media and the prosecutor’s office, and has totally disregarded court rulings.
Instead of taking action, the European Commission has turned a blind eye to the blatant violations and even rewarded pro-EU Tusk with the release of billions of euros of EU funds for Poland.
The Rule of Law Observer will be updated continuously, as Ordo Iuris intends to report on major governmental actions that
undermine the constitutional principles, civil rights, and freedoms that form the foundation of the Republic of Poland’s legal order.
