Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters on Thursday, December 18th, that “On Friday and Saturday, our team will be in the United States of America; they are already on their way … and the Americans are waiting for them.” He added that European officials may also attend the talks.
U.S. and Russian officials are also expected to hold talks in Miami, Florida, this weekend about a possible agreement to end the war in Ukraine, Politico reported on Wednesday, citing two people familiar with the matter.
Politico said U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are expected to be part of the U.S. delegation, while Russia will be represented, among others, by Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund.
