An 11-year-old girl has been stabbed in London’s Leicester Square. The girl was taken to hospital on Monday along with a 34-year-old woman. Police said the girl requires hospital treatment but her injuries are not life-threatening, while the woman’s injuries were more minor.
Officers say they have arrested a man and taken him into custody, but have given no further details on his identity. “We don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects,” Westminster Police said on X.
Sky News quoted a security guard who said he “heard a scream” then “jumped on” the attacker. “I just saw a kid getting stabbed and I just tried to save her. It’s my duty to just save them,” the man said.
