As a part of an unrelenting effort to export the cultural globalists’ left-liberal, LGBT-gender ideology to the rest of the world, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which funds media outlets across the globe that promote the same ideological worldview, last week unveiled its first-ever LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development Policy.
In its policy paper, published Wednesday, August 2nd, USAID—a federal agency which in 2023 received $49.59 billion in taxpayer funding for its worldwide endeavors—listed the goals and outcomes being pursued by the policy, including “comprehensive sexuality education” and “reproductive rights”—another way to say LGBT and gender ideological indoctrination and access to abortion.
“USAID affirms and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) people and all people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) as integral parts of every society,” the policy paper’s executive summary introduction reads.
USAID’s Senior LGBTQI+ coordinator Jay Gilliam previously worked as the director of the global program at the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)—described as “the largest LGBTQ political lobbying organization in the U.S.” The HRC has vocally opposed legislation either passed or being considered in the majority of U.S. states that bans sex-change operations on those under the age of 18, calling the laws an attack on ‘gender-affirming care.’
In June, the HRC, in response to some state legislatures passing what it called “anti-LGBTQ bills” and laws prohibiting sex change operations for children, declared a “state of emergency for LGBTQI+ Americans.”
In the USAID’s promotional video for its new LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development Policy, Gilliam says the policy is a “blueprint for USAID’s staff and partners around the world to champion LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development and the human rights of all LGBTQI+ people throughout our work.”
USAID Lesotho Country Director Smita Kumar claimed LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development is “critical for ensuring USAID country programs benefit all populations and realize human rights.
Against a backdrop of the new iteration of the pride flag, USAID Administrator Samantha Power, a key figure in the Biden administration, said the organization is “incredibly proud to stand for non-discrimination, to stand for empathy, and to stand for inclusion. We dedicated ourselves to those values during Pride Month and every day of the year.”
Earlier this year, in February, Powers visited Hungary and met with a number of anti-government, left-liberal activists. During her stay, she announced that USAID had launched “new, locally-driven initiatives to help independent media thrive and reach new audiences, take on corruption, and increased civic engagement,” implicitly suggesting that the state of media freedom in Hungary is somehow lacking.
Mike Gonzales, a fellow at the Washington-based think tank the Heritage Foundation, sharply criticized her visit, arguing that the Biden administration was trying to destabilize Hungary, a NATO ally. He also slammed the administration for cozying up to Brazilian President Lula da Silva and Colombian President Gustavo Petro, two communists he says despise America.
The LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development Policy, whose tenets will likely be imposed on organizations around the world that receive any kind of USAID funding, highlights the hypocrisy of the globalist Left, which purports to oppose colonialism but engages in brazen ideological imperialism wherever it can, in every corner of the world.
In its report on the Anti-Family, Anti-Life UN Agenda, Family Watch International (FWI), a nonprofit organization that works to “protect and promote the family as the fundamental unit of society at the international, national, and local levels through education, pro-family advocacy, and family-based humanitarian aid,” claims to reveal what it calls a “highly elaborate and deceptive plan concocted by UNFPA to advance abortion and controversial sexual rights in contravention of many UN Member State laws.”
The FWI insists that the goal of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)—a UN agency, which similarly to the USAID’s LGBTQI+, claims to be dedicated to the promotion of reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and population and development issues—is to “establish an unfettered international right to abortion, to ensure the indoctrination of children with harmful comprehensive sexuality education, and to change the traditional sex and gender norms of all societies.”
Specifically, the FWI in its report, notes that the UN’s International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Beyond 2014 Report, similarly to the USAID LGBTI Inclusive Development Policy, has 191 references to “abortion,” 14 references to “comprehensive sexuality education,” 10 references to “sexual and reproductive health and rights,” and four references to “sexual orientation and gender identity.”
In light of these initiatives spearheaded by the UN and USAID, both of which repeatedly promote concepts like “comprehensive sexuality education,” “sexual and reproductive health and rights,” and “sexual orientation and gender identity,” it’s not difficult to see how some may come to the conclusion that both are part of a wider ideologically imperialistic effort to impose the same left-liberal, LGBT gender ideology, and anti-family agenda across the globe.
