Patriots insist the issue is “one of the most devastating legacies” of Ursula von der Leyen’s presidency.

Leftist politicians try all sorts of tricks to distract attention away from their records on uncontrolled mass migration. Now, groups in the European Parliament are even saying that the title of a debate alone is enough to stop it from happening in the first place.

The chairs of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, liberal and Green groups in the Parliament have written to Roberta Metsola, the institution’s president, to complain about a debate which is supposed to take place on Wednesday, September 10th.

They say that its title—

After 10 years, time to end mass migration now—protect our women and children.

—could encourage “hatred and violence,” according to a letter seen by Politico. The chairs add that because of this, the debate goes against Parliament’s standards of non-discrimination and should be cancelled unless its name is changed.

The debate was scheduled by the Patriots for Europe group, which describes “an out-of-control migration policy” as “one of the most devastating legacies” of Ursula von der Leyen’s Commission presidency.

Outlining its reasons for scheduling this debate, the group said:

The EU’s asylum and migration policies have made Europe less safe, less free, and less united. Responsibility and sovereignty have been sacrificed on the altar of ideology.

The debate still showed as being scheduled for this Wednesday on the European Parliament’s website as of midday on September 8th.
