Netanyahu signals readiness for a deal to release dozens of hostages—while Europe’s leaders still condemn the one democracy in the conflict.

Following weeks of intensified fighting against Hamas terrorists—opposed by Brussels-friendly governments at almost every turn—and support from its genuine allies in Washington, Israel appears now to be making serious progress on releasing the hostages still held captive in Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “advance” talks on bringing the hostages home on Sunday, saying this is “because I sense an opening.”

We will complete … both missions: the destruction of Hamas and the release of the hostages.

Hamas still holds 54 of the 251 hostages it took captive on October 7th, many of them now dead.

The Israeli PM also told reporters over the weekend that U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff “made an offer to begin a 60-day ceasefire, a ceasefire in which half of those hostages would be released right away.”

And I said, yes, we’re ready to go. There’s been some development there. I hope we’re able to do that.

Meanwhile, “tens of thousands” of activists protested in various European cities over the weekend for their governments to take further action against Israel’s war with Hamas. Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and accused Israel of “genocide,” as opposed to the genocidal death cult of Hamas.

If not helped by European leaders, Israel’s campaign to return the hostages has undoubtedly been bolstered by its weakening of Hamas’ Iranian backers. Brussels will no doubt pour further cold water on these efforts at an emergency meeting of EU foreign ministers on Tuesday, June 17th.
