Spain’s VOX-affiliated Solidaridad trade-union has called for demonstrations to be held Saturday, March 19th, throughout Spain in order to protest the government’s economic and energy policies. In its official statement, the union referred to the impoverishment of the country’s working and middle classes, and the fact that nothing is being done to increase energy and food-supply independence.

The government was further accused of overburdening tax-payers at a time of record high energy prices in order to retain the many unproductive, ideologically-motivated agencies that contribute to the state’s bloated and wasteful character.
