The minister of the interior chose to resolutely back the forces of law and order and highlighted the massive support they continue to receive from the French people.
The ban follows instructions given directly by Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who on Tuesday, May 9th, expressly requested that any demonstration originating from “the ultra-Right or the extreme Right be banned.”
Plans to reform the deportation process and open the pathway of regularisation to illegal immigration are likely to be opposed by the French Right and Left.
