Von der Leyen Survives No Confidence Vote After Appeasing the Left
Even though the Ursula coalition rose to defend the Commission chief, the voting result shows she lost significant support since last year’s election.

Even though the Ursula coalition rose to defend the Commission chief, the voting result shows she lost significant support since last year’s election.

The no-confidence motion was brought forward by Romanian nationalist MEP Gheorghe Piperea and backed by conservative and nationalist forces.

The Commission chief tried to gaslight everyone by alleging that “extremist conspiracy theorists” want to “rewrite history” by asking her to comply with the Court ruling.

The vote is expected to fail, but it will be “sensational” to see the Commission chief justifying accusations after the Pfizergate ruling.

It will be impossible to bring down von der Leyen without leftist support, but the goal is to raise awareness about the “pattern of institutional overreach, democratic disregard, and erosion of public trust” in EU governance.
