Israel has warned that recognizing a Palestinian state will fuel instability, as more countries signal their support for the proposal ahead of the UN General Assembly.
The U.S. said the PA’s statehood campaign and legal actions against Israel helped derail Gaza peace talks and hardened Hamas’ stance on releasing hostages.
The statement was signed by the top diplomats of 20 EU member states, including the UK, France, and Italy, along with their counterparts from Australia, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand.
