Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said the attacks amounted to “war crimes,” and would “further affect Ukraine’s capacity to transfer their food products towards those in need in the world.”

Ambassadors have been called in for talks after a senior Polish official said Kyiv should “start appreciating the role Poland has played for Ukraine.”

The deal would be an “effective contribution to the food security of the world,” Ukraine’s foreign minister said.

The statement comes as Russia hosts 17 African heads of state at this week’s Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg.
