Obsessed with not appearing too far to the Right because of some of his reform ideas, the French president is pandering to the far Left by calling the Rassemblement National “outside the republican arc.”
Benjamin Haddad, a member of the National Assembly representing Macron’s Renaissance Party, said the Wagner Group are “not just mercenaries, there is a will to kill civilians for political gain, to destabilize institutions.”
France is at a fork in the road, where her political leaders have shrinking maneuverability, where they are running out of time, and where they cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of the past.
The opinion poll comes as new immigration legislation, which was supposed to be one of the main items on the National Assembly’s agenda between now and July 14th, has been postponed until autumn due to a lack of majority support.
