The Patriots for Europe have launched a four-day assault on Ursula von der Leyen ahead of Thursday’s no-confidence vote.

The European Commission president is now facing a third no-confidence motion in as many months, highlighting deepening discontent with her leadership across the political spectrum.

A Belgian Patriot MEP described the organisation as “a direct threat to our citizens and to democracy itself.”

The Dutch and Hungarian Patriots embody a movement aiming to turn rising conservative momentum into lasting political power.

“Europeans were deliberately kept in the dark that the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines were not guaranteed,” Austrian Patriots MEP Gerald Hauser stated.

The European Commission chief is set to confront her third motion of no-confidence in just three months.

The Patriots group pushed for remigration, strict border control, and the recovery of national sovereignty in the face of the EU’s “negligence.”

Though the latest two are likely doomed to fail as did the first one, the string of three motions highlights the growing erosion of the Commission President’s authority.

Manfred Weber called for more centralization in Brussels and declared that “only an irreversible EU can survive in today’s world.”

The Patriots group launches a Motion of Censure against von der Leyen over her repeated failures of governance.
