Facing an overwhelming wave of organized crime, PM Kristersson has found no other solution than to rely on a state’s last resort for asserting its monopoly of force: the military.
The Turkish Parliament will not come back from recess until the start of the autumn legislative session. In the meantime, Erdoğan noted, Sweden has some homework to do, having left conservatives out of the loop.
Erdoğan’s decision represents yet another snub to Russian President Vladimir Putin and comes only a few days after he released Ukrainian prisoners to President Zelensky, breaking a prisoner-exchange agreement between Turkey, Ukraine, and Moscow.
After years of taking in large shares of asylum seekers, many of whom never receive asylum status, Sweden’s centre-right government has proposed constructing deportation centres to prevent illegals from going underground after being ordered to leave the country.
After a deadly mass shooting over the weekend and years of being Europe’s capital of gun crime, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has promised some justice reforms but it remains unclear what effect they might have to deter the ongoing violence.
Kristersson had previously vowed to overturn decades of bad immigration policy by the Swedish Social Democrats as he called for a revamp of Swedish integration and asylum policies to become the strictest in Europe.
