The Swedish police arrested a man in his twenties on suspicion of murder and two others suspected of incitement to murder on Thursday.

Swedish prosecutors said on Friday, May 2nd, that the 16-year-old arrested in Sweden after a triple murder in Uppsala is no longer a suspect and has been released from custody.

Two men around the ages of 25 and 35 were arrested on Thursday, suspected of “incitement to murder”, while a third man in his 20s was arrested overnight on Thursday on suspicion of murder, a statement by the prosecutor’s office said.

As we reported, three youths aged 15 to 20 were killed on Tuesday in broad daylight at a hair salon in central Uppsala. Swedish media has said at least one of the dead had connections to a criminal gang, though police have not confirmed those reports.

Initially, a 16-year-old teenager of Somali origin was suspected of committing the brutal murders.

Uppsala is home base for Sweden’s two most notorious gangs, Rumba and Foxtrot. Their leaders, Ismail Abdo and Rawa Majid, are both now believed to be orchestrating operations from abroad.

Sweden has been plagued by gang activities and violence for years, leading to frequent shootings and bombings across the country that have occasionally claimed innocent victims.
