“Hamas must disarm and end its rule in Gaza,” the EU’s foreign policy chief said on X.

Videos published recently by Hamas and Islamic Jihad showing emaciated Israeli hostages are “appalling” and barbaric, EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas said on Sunday, August 3rd.

“The images of Israeli hostages are appalling and expose the barbarity of Hamas. All hostages must be released immediately and unconditionally. Hamas must disarm and end its rule in Gaza. At the same time, large-scale humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach those in need,” Kallas posted on X.

Earlier, EU officials appeared to show little sympathy for the Israeli hostages still kept in Gaza, and instead condemned Israel and called on it to implement an “unconditional ceasefire,” effectively questioning Israel’s right to defend itself.
