Terrorists are receiving support from Berlin, within the framework of a program dedicated to democracy. It transpires that the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs financed a solidarity event for imprisoned anti-fascists with public money.
The ministry’s program, called “Living Democracy!”, paid for the event in Jena on October 8th. Entitled “Greetings from Prison,” the event allowed its organizers to express their solidarity with the currently imprisoned left-wing terrorist suspects known as the Hammer Gang.
Among other things, letters from the imprisoned anti-fascists were read aloud at the event, and visitors were given the opportunity to send letters and postcards to the prisoners. The messages promoted the claim that
Five young anti-fascists from Jena have been in prison for months—Maja in Budapest, Paula, Luca, Nele, and Emilie in German prisons.
“Maja”—actually Simeon T.—is currently in pre-trial detention in the Hungarian capital on charges of attacking and seriously injuring individuals in the city with hammers in 2023. “Maja” could face up to 24 years in prison.
The other suspects are members of the so-called Hammer Gang, and are currently in German prisons. Paula P., Luca S., Nele A., and Emilie D. are charged by the federal prosecutor with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and membership in the above-mentioned criminal organization.
This was not the only extreme event organized by “Alternative Orientation Days Jena” that day. The Budapest Anti-Fascist Solidarity Committee (BASC) organized an event entitled “The Budapest Complex—An Overview.” The invitation criticized “probably one of the biggest waves of repression against anti-fascists in Germany and throughout Europe.” The text continued: “We will not allow repression to take effect! FREE THE ANTIFAS—WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT!” Similar to the event entitled “Greetings from Prison,” the other far-left events were also supported by the “Living Democracy” program dedicated to democracy.
The day before, on October 7th, the “Stop the Shift to the Right” alliance, also supported by “Living Democracy!”, specifically recruited first-year students at the University of Jena. The program’s flyer read: “Are you new to Jena and interested in anti-fascist work? Then come to our meeting!”
The “Living Democracy!” federal program receives €182 million annually, which is distributed among various projects and organizations across the country, many of which are radically left-wing. The current notoriety of the ‘Hammer Gang’ owes much to the Europe-wide campaign to allow ‘Hammer Girl’ Ilaria Salis MEP to evade justice.
