A shooting occurred in Brussels’ Saint-Gilles district in the early hours of Thursday, October 2nd. According to the authorities, no one was hurt.

Our teams were called to Place Bethléem at around 01:45 to respond to shots fired.

Saint Gilles is one of the most dangerous areas of Brussels, where shootings and stabbings are frequent. Previously a Polish politician’s car was fired on in this area.

More broadly, multiple firearms incidents have shown the city to be increasingly unsafe—something a European Union official recently dismissed as a problem confined to “rotten areas.”
