Chris Martin asked fans of his band to ‘send love’ to Charlie Kirk’s family—which offended some of the audience.

At a Coldplay gig in London on Friday, September 12th, singer Chris Martin encouraged the crowd to send their love to various people, including Charlie Kirk’s family.

Before a performance of the song ‘Fix You,’ Martin halted the show to encourage fans to raise their hands and “send love anywhere you wanna send it in the world.”

“There are so many places that might need it today,” said Martin.

You can send this to your brother or your sister, you can send it to the families of people who have been going through terrible stuff, you can send it to Charlie Kirk’s family. You can send it to anybody’s family. You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway … You can send it to peaceful people in the Middle East, in Ukraine and Russia.

A positive mention of Charlie Kirk prompted dissatisfaction among some concert goers, who would perhaps have preferred Bob Vylan

Some have since declared that they are no longer Coldplay fans because of Martin’s comment.
