The migrant sex offender coerced his victim after a chance encounter in a Leicester park.

An Afghan asylum seeker was jailed on Wednesday, July 15th after being convicted of rape.

On October 9, 2023 Islamuddin Talash was approached by a 20-year-old male—described in Leicester Crown Court as vulnerable, implying severe learning difficulties—who was attempting to buy a bicycle. Instead, Talash took his victim to a “secluded” area of Abbey Park in the East Midlands city of Leicester, and attacked him.

The victim was coerced into performing oral sex before being raped. The court sentenced the 43-year-old to six years imprisonment, minus the time he has spent on remand. Talash will then be registered as a sex offender for life and potentially deported at the end of his sentence.

Prosecutor Paul Cavin KC said a severe aggravating factor in Talash’s crime is that he left the victim “open” to contracting a sexually transmitted disease.
