The far-left “Vulkan Group” has claimed responsibility for the arson that caused the Berlin power outage, leaving around 45,000 households without electricity and, in many places, without heating in sub-zero temperatures, while kindergartens, schools, nursing homes and hospitals were also affected, and restoration could take until Thursday.

In a cynical manifesto the group calls for further energy sabotage in the name of the “common good”, downplaying the suffering of civilians, while the authorities are investigating the case as a terrorist act, and the intelligence service has long warned that these attacks have serious and direct consequences for the population.
