Balázs Orbán, Political Director to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (no relation) and Chairman of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), will become a Member of the European Parliament this July.
The move was announced on Monday, April 27th by Gergely Gulyás, head of the newly formed Fidesz parliamentary group.
The transition involves a direct role swap: Balázs Orbán will take the seat currently held by Pál Szekeres in Brussels. In turn, Szekeres will return to Budapest to join the work of the Hungarian Parliament.
