Fidesz’s Campaign Chief Heading to European Parliament

Political director Balázs Orbán is set to join the EP in Brussels and Strasbourg this summer.

Balázs Orbán, Political Director to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (no relation) and Chairman of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), will become a Member of the European Parliament this July.

The move was announced on Monday, April 27th by Gergely Gulyás, head of the newly formed Fidesz parliamentary group.

The transition involves a direct role swap: Balázs Orbán will take the seat currently held by Pál Szekeres in Brussels. In turn, Szekeres will return to Budapest to join the work of the Hungarian Parliament.
