Polish prime minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday, February 3rd that he will travel to Kyiv later this week to discuss the organisation of a global conference focused on the reconstruction of Ukraine.
According to Tusk, the conference is planned for June and will be held in the northern Polish city of Gdansk. The event is intended to bring together political leaders, experts, and representatives of major companies from around the world to discuss post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
Polish Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański will accompany Tusk on the visit to Ukraine and will be responsible for organising the conference with his team. Tusk said discussions in Kyiv would focus on the organisational details of the event:
We will discuss the organisational details with our Ukrainian hosts.
After the end of the war or the fighting, it would be possible to launch what he described as a “Grand Plan for the Reconstruction of Ukraine,” he added.
Tusk declared that the initiative would involve large-scale investments, significant financial resources, and the participation of major companies.
